Late Thursday night, G4′s Olivia Munn (co-host of Attack of the Show) posted a seemingly innocuous Twitter message: “Just finished promos for hulu/microsoft event I’m doing on June 8!” By Friday, the Internet was ablaze with speculation: Does this suggest Microsoft is planning to integrate support for the television website into the 360′s dashboard?
As Gizmodo reported, it seems to make sense. Much like the Netflix support that was added late last year, Hulu appears to be a perfect fit on Microsoft’s console. On top of that, Microsoft recently announced 360 support with the Sky Player in Europe, a service that’s similar to Hulu. The only problem: A new post on Munn’s official website seems to cast a lot of doubt on this rumor.
As it turns out, it appears the June 8 event that Munn was referring to in the Twitter post is the “Bingathon,” an event to promote Bing, Microsoft’s new search engine. So what’s the Hulu connection? As the post reads, “Make sure to go to Hulu on June 8 all day long. I’m going to be hosting a very, ummm…crazy telethon comedy skit with Jason Sudeikis (plays Joe Biden on SNL). We’re going to be on all day making fools of ourselves and it’s gonna be awesome!!!”
